Experience
contributes best to learning when it promotes the development of feeling
as well as thinking.
We believe that --
-
Your child is a unique individual, with
talents and potential for growth, and deserves our full attention;
-
Each child has physical, social, emotional
and cognitive needs that must be enhanced — our special concern;
-
Children develop sequentially from one
stage to another. Thus, we feel that children must be provided with opportunities
that will challenge them and aid in their progression from one stage to
the next;
-
Children construct knowledge through experience.
So our program will provide the children with a large variety of activities
that will allow for success and encourage advancement in all areas of development;
-
For children to grow, they need to exist
in a setting that meets their basic developmental neds. Our program provides
a comfortable environment that is specifically structured to meet the physical,
emotional and developmental needs of each individual child;
-
The teacher serves as positive role models
and provides care that is supportive, nurturing, warm and responsive to
each child's individual needs.

Our philosophy and approach are influenced
by the Bank Street Approach or the Developmental Interaction
Approach which takes into consideration the realtionship between development
and learning. Play is its approach to learning. Through play, the child
learns concepts of objects, time, space, causality, and skills in dealing
with his/her environment.
