System Components:
Master
Unit - A microprocessor based device with many features to help the management
of the store to manage and monitor the operation.
- A
stand-alone device, the use of computer is optional
- User
friendly, all functions can be accessed through menu
- LCD
display with 16 characters x 2 lines
- Accurate
real time clock
- All
records of the master unit and the E-tag can be viewed through print out
or LCD display
- Minimum
time can be set by the management
- 2 different
rates can be set by the management
- Upon
checkout, it can automatically calculate the total time used and amount
payable (2 different rates can be selected by the operator)
- A dot-matrix
printer can be attached to the unit. It will print upon check-in and checkout
of the customer with check-in time, checkout time, total time used, the
number of the computer used, E-tag number and amount paid.
- The
records of the master unit and the E-tag can be downloaded to a PC. The
downloading program is provided with the package and a Monitoring program
can be purchased separately.
- The
Master Unit is equipped with battery back up. In case of power failure,
the unit can still do the checkout. An automatic battery charger is provided.
- All
vital information is protected by passwords.

Station
Unit - A microprocessor based terminal mounted on every computer to control
the on/off of the computer monitor and validate the information of the E-tag.
- Automatically
turn on the computer monitor upon insertion of a valid E-tag and turn off
the monitor upon removal of the E-tag.
- Use
solid state relay with zero-crossing detector to turn on/off the monitor.
This will avoid electric surge and will not affect the life span of the
monitor.
- Use
7-segment LED display to indicate the hour and the minute used by the customer.
This can remind the customer the time he spent.
- Save
the time used to the E-tag every 5 minutes. However, the time recorded is
used for reference only, the final time used will be based on the Master
Unit.
E-key
- An electronic key used to turn on the station unit. It is useful when the
Master Unit is out-of-service. Under normal operation, this E-key is not used.

- A reusable read/write memory tag used to save the records of the customer.
It is used to pass the information between the Master Unit and the Station Unit.
