Tourism Sites in Agusan del Norte

Buenavista The municipality is one of Agusan del Norte's coastal towns that has sandy beaches. The beaches stretch from Abilan to Sacol that offers cottages for tourists and local beachgoers. The town has its picturesque Tacub and Bacucang Falls.

Cabadbaran The natural attractions found in Cabadbaran are its beaches and spring-fed Sumag-a Falls and Pool.The highest of all mountains in the Caraga Region, Mount Hilong-hilong (located 2,012 meters above sea level),which is a delight for mountain climbers not only for its height but also for its varied flora and fauna, rises in this municipality.

Carmen The Carmen Ecological Tourism Center has an estimated area of 1,850 hectares which stretch along the beaches of Barangay Tagcatong up to the municipality of Magsaysay. Prominent among these is the Bolihon Beach with its white sand. Its deep sea-green waters, cliffs and natural rock formation are very inviting to deep sea and scuba diving. There are also the acclaimed 45 grotto-like Punta Diwata caverns of Vinapor. This splendid and unspoiled place is the present site of numerous field trips and science expeditions. It also serves as the Pilgrim Center of devotees during the Holy Week.

Mount Carmel, one of the highest peaks in the region, is another significant attraction. A viewing deck, restaurant and a sports recreational center will soon be constructed. It also features a chance to view Surigao del Norte and a glimpse of the Camiguin Island. This place is ideal for Kite festivals and a good starting point for sky-diving enthusiasts.



Jabonga and Kitcharao are the places to go to enjoy fishing or boating on its famous lake, the Lake Mainit.

Las Nieves Las Nieves is one of the fortunate municipalities of Agusan del Norte to retain its natural environment. The tourist spots of the place are its river, the Ibuan falls, scenic hills and the Asinan Salt Spring.




Magallanes has many interesting places to visit. To mention some: the historic Magellan Marker, the Municipal Museum, the viewing deck in Taod-oy, the 500 year-old Bita-ug Tree, the Puting Bato Cave.


Nasipit is also proud of its tourist spots, such as: Ata-atahon Beach, Berido Beach and Tidalgo Beach. It has also waterfalls, namely Tacub Falls, Makesohe Falls, Tandungan Falls and Culit Falls.

RTR has three distinctive tourist attractions. These are the Sak-a Falls, its waters cascading over huge boulders bordered by vegetation of towering trees and giant ferns; Tagnote Falls, its waters broken by boulders which also serve as diving points for bathers; and the Humilog Cave, with mysterious stalagmites and stalacttites in its echoing chambers.

Santiago The Mapaso Hot and Cold Springs, a geothermal spring, is a place to visit in Santiago. It also has rolling and rugged mountains one of which is the Mt. Mabaho, rising 1,823 meters above sea level.

By Land - We are three days away from Manila via the Maharlika Highway and inter-island ferry boat
