Santiago lies on the northeastern part of Agusan del Norte. Its boundaries
are Jabonga to the north; Tubay and Cabadbaran to the south; Surigao del
Sur to the east. It is 47 kms. from Butuan City.
It has rolling and rugged mountains. Mt Mabaho (1,823 meters above sea
level) is among its mountains. It has a pronounced dry season. Santiago has a total land area of 27,561 hectares.
Its major agricultural crops are rice, corn, bananas and coconuts.
Santiago is also popular for its gold and copper deposits.
