RTR is 217 kilometers northeast of the regional center. Its boundaries
are Cabadbaran to the north; Magallanes to the west; Butuan City to the south; and
Sibagat, Agusan del Sur to the east. It is 20 kms. away from Butuan City.
The municipality has a total land area of 6,928 hectars. Rice, bananas, jackfruit, rootcrops and timber are its major crops.
RTR is popularly known as the Rice Granary of Agusan del Norte.
Although primarily a rice producing municipality, RTR is also into
brackish-water fish farming. It has a total 55 hectares of fishponds.
