Provincial Engineer's Office

FUNCTIONAL STATEMENTS:

  • Responsible for the planning design, programming, and maintenance of provincial infrastructure such as roads, bridges, building, small irrigation structures and other public improvements of the province.

  • Responsible for providing technical assistance to municipalities in the planning and constructions of public improvements including maintenance of municipal streets.

  • Develop plans program operating standard and administrative technique for the promotion of the objective function of the planning, programming and administrative services.

  • Strengthen the Provincial Engineering Staff through recruitment of additional qualified personnel and by undertaking a training program in the planning and programming and project management.

  • Undertake the periodic maintenance of all roads, bridges, culverts, irrigation canals, and other infrastructure of the province.

  • Undertake and supervises, the operation servicing of service assigned in the office.

  • Provides personnel, property, supply, procurement, clerical, messengerial and general services to the Provincial Engineer's Office.

  • Plans the overall development work of the Provincial Engineer's Office. Prepares detailed plans, specifications and estimates for all roads, bridges, culverts, building and other construction projects to be performed by or under the supervision of the Provincial Engineer's Office.

  • Formulation of design and construction policy, taking into consideration the materials to be used upon which specifications for the type of work to be performed on specific projects. Advice concerns on the acceptance or rejection of materials being used based on the results of laboratory and field test actually conducted and making recommendation for correction in cases of unsatisfactory condition. Lays out horizontal and vertical control of projects, including surveys to check conformance with project plans and specification. Conduct periodic project, inspections to ensure that the construction force uses only proper and effective construction methods and practices. Updates soils and source map by actually conducting available sources, locally available within the province.

  • Performs such other functions as may be provided by law and those that are necessary in the effective and efficient operation of the office.
