FUNCTIONAL STATEMENTS:
A. Objectives: The office of the Provincial Agriculturist as a mandatory provincial office which takes charge of the delivery of basic services in agriculture is tasked to formulate measures, develop plans and strategies and ensure that maximum assistance and access to resources in production, processing and marketing of agricultural, aqua-cultural and marine products, are extended to farmers, fishermen and local entrepreneurs. It will also conduct or cause to be conducted location specific agricultural researches, and assist in making available appropriate technology for the production of crops, livestock and fishery, assists in the establishment of demonstration farms enforces rules and regulations relating to fishery and agriculture, shall also coordinate with other government agencies and non-government organization that promote agricultural productivity and exercise such other powers and performs other duties and functions as may be prescribed by law and ordinances. II. PLANNING, MONITORING, RESEARCH AND SUPPORT SERVICES A. Objectives: As one of the Division of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, it is tasked with the development, including the conduct of research and establishment of support services and facilities. These are vital functions whose objective are to gather necessary and technical information that will enhance development efforts and will provide management tools for effective and efficient performance of program and projects. III. IMPLEMENTATION OF AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS A. Objectives: Agricultural extension and regulatory services are basic functions for agricultural development. In fact, the mandate under the local government code (RA 7160) prescribe the devolution of agricultural extension functions to the local government units in delivering the basic services for production, marketing, as well as processing of agricultural products to make the Filipino farmer competitive in the world market.
