The boundaries of Nasipit are: Butuan Bay on the North; Carmen on the West and
Buenavista on the east. It is 25.4 kms. from Butuan City south. It comprises
4,695 hectares of land.
Largely attributed to its strategic location, the municipality acquired
the distinction as the Gateway of the Northeastern Mindanao, the
forerunner of which is the Nasipit International Seaport gateway of
Northeastern Mindanao.
One of its attraction is the
100 megawatt power barge mounted at Sitio Lawis, Bangay Sta. Ana. This
powerbarge is operated by Burmeister and Wain Scandinavian contractor
(BSWC).
At present, Nasipit is targeted for the implementation of Nasipit Agusan
del Norte Industrial Estate (NANIE) with the projection of generating
employment not only for Nasipit but for the entire people of Caraga Region.
