Will XLR8 work if I am using when I connect to other Internet Service Providers?

Sorry but XLR8 is a technology unique to bayanINTERNET. Thus, XLR8 will not function with other ISPs.

What are the system requirements of XLR8?

An Internet Browser (Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher, Netscape versions 4.07 to 7.0)
Windows 98 or higher

How do I install the software?

To properly setup XLR8 on your PC, please follow these steps:

1. Download and save the file labeled as XLR8.exe to your desktop.
2. Make sure that you are not connected to the internet and that ALL programs (including your browser) are closed.
3. Open XLR8.exe and follow all succeeding prompts and directions.
4. Restart your computer.
5. Log on to the internet using your bayanINTERNET account.
6. Check the system tray found on the lower right corner of your screen. The XLR8 icon should appear there.
7. Move the cursor over the icon to see your effective surfing speed.
8. Open a browser window and select the “Tools” menu. Click Internet Options>Connections>Settings>Dial-up and Virtual Private Network Settings>Dial-up Connection>Advanced. Make sure that the proxy IP address is 127.0.0.1 and the port number is 6198.

How do I uninstall XLR8?

To install XLR8 from your computer, please follow these steps:

1. Close all running programs.
2. Right-click the XLR8 icon which you will find on your computer’s system tray.
3. Select “Un-install.”
4. Restart your computer.

Note: Your XLR8 username and password is the same as you username and password for your bayanINTERNET dial-up access.

How do I perform an emergency uninstallation if I failed to properly uninstall the program?

To perform an emergency uninstallation, please follow these steps:

1. Reinstall the program. (Please see installation instructions for more information.)
2. Restart your computer.
3. Perform proper uninstallation.
4. Restart your computer again.

When the uninstaller file cannot be located or retrieved, take the following measures:

1. Restart your computer.
2. Open a browser window and select the “Tools” menu. Click Internet Options>Connections>LAN Settings.
3. Under “Automatic Configuration,” select “Automatically detect settings.”
4. Click the “Start” button located at the lower left portion of the screen. Select “Run” and input “msconfig” when the Run window appears.
5. Deselect PxUi.exe and/or PxClient.exe.
6. Restart your computer.

How do I disable XLR8?

To temporarily disable XLR8, please follow these steps:
1. Close all Internet applications.
2. Right-click the XLR8 icon on your system tray.
3. Click the “Disable” option.

How do I enable XLR8?

To enable XLR8, please follow these steps:
4. Close all Internet applications.
5. Right-click the XLR8 icon on your system tray.
6. Click the “Enable” option.

Why do I get a “Conflict” error message after installing XLR8?

A “conflict” error message appears when you have two usernames on your machine. Please note that your XLR8 username and password should be the same as your bayanINTERNET access codes. Should you wish to switch to another bayanINTERNET account, you must first disable XLR8 and then enable the program using the username and password that matches the bayanINTERNET account you will be using. You may also log off completely from one account and log in again with the other account you wish to use.

Why is my username and password denied, even if I am entering the correct information?

Your security settings might be too high. To reduce the security and privacy settings of your computer to medium, please follow these steps:

1. Open your browser.
2. Select Tools>Options>Security>Privacy.
3. Re-set your “Custom Settings” to “Medium.”

What do I do when a slow down occurs?

To resolve this, please follow these steps:
1. Click the “Start” button located at the lower left portion of the screen. Select “Run” and input “msconfig” when the Run window appears.
2. Select the “Startup” tab and deselect all the options except PxClient.exe. Click “Apply.”
3. Restart your computer.
For Windows XP, you will need to deselect all the options except for pxui.exe/automation.

Why do I see “Effective Speed: Check later,” whenever I point my mouse cursor to the XLR8 icon?

This message indicates that you are either not connected to the internet or XLR8 was not properly installed. To resolve this, uninstall the program and re-install XLR8 in your computer.

Can I access E-Bay while XLR8 is enabled?

Generally, there should be no problem in logging on to E-bay. However, should you encounter difficulties in accessing the website, you may try these steps to address them:

1. Right-click on the XLR8 icon.
2. Select Settings>Plus.
3. Deselect “Maximum Privacy Protection.”
4. Open a browser window and select the “Tools” menu. Click Internet Options>General>Temporary Internet Files.
5. Select Delete Cookies, including “Offline Content.”

Can I use XLR8 along with my firewall?

All firewalls must be set to allow full internet access to PxUi.exe and PxClient.exe files.

What about McAfee?

When McAfee prompts you to “Grant access” or “block” the XLR8 file (PxClient.exe), just select “Grant access” and XLR8 will continue to function normally. If in case you chose “Block” by mistake, please perform the following tasks:

1. Click on “Personal Firewall.”
2. Click on “View the application list.”
3. Select PxClient.exe on the list.
4. Select “Allow full access.”

What about Norton Internet Security?

When Norton prompts you to “Permit” or “Block” the XLR8 file (PxClient.exe), just select “Permit” and XLR8 will continue to function normally. If in case you chose “Block” by mistake, please perform the following tasks:

1. Double-click the Norton Internet Security icon found on your computer’s system tray.
2. Go to Personal Firewalls>Configure>Programs>Manual Programs Control.
3. Look for PxClient.exe on the list of programs and select the option “Permit All.”
4. Click OK.
