How to Update an Existing Domain Registration with the InterNIC

Step 1 - Verify the Current InterNIC Information

Before updating the domain, verify the information currently at the InterNIC using whois.

Step 2 - Request Secondary DNS from SKY Internet

If the customer wants SKY Internet to provide secondary DNS, it has to be requested. You must have confirmation from SKY Internet specifying the assigned secondary DNS server before proceeding.

Step 3 - Complete the InterNIC Domain Template

To update a domain name under ROOT, COM, ORG, NET, EDU, or GOV, fill out the template available from:

ftp://rs.internic. net/templates/domain-template.txt

To update a domain name under PH Domain , fill out the template available from:

ftp:// skyinet.net/pub/dns/templates/emc/ph-domain-template.txt

You must save the template to your local system, complete the template, and then email the template to the appropriate address.

Step 4 - Submit the Domain Template

Completed templates for ROOT, COM, ORG, NET, EDU, or GOV domain names should be sent to hostmaster@internic.net.

Completed templates for PH domain names should be sent to jd@fc.emc.com.ph.

SKY Internet will help its customers modify domain names with the InterNIC. However, the template must be submitted to the InterNIC by one of the contact people for the domain at the InterNIC. Use whois if you are unsure of who the correct person is.

Directions are available in the document:
