How to Register a New Domain with the PH Domain

NOTE: See PH Domain Frequently Asked Questions for more information.

Step 1 - Verify the Domain Name is Available

Verify that the domain is not already in use using nslookup. Set default server to alethea.emc.com.ph

Step 2 - Coordinate for Primary and Secondary DNS

If the customer wants SKY Internet to provide secondary DNS, it has to be requested. You must have confirmation from SKY Internet specifying the assigned secondary DNS server before proceeding.

Step 3 - Complete the PH Domain Template

To register a new domain name under COM.PH, ORG.PH, NET.PH, MIL.PH, or NGO.PH, fill out the template available from:

ftp://ftp.skyinet.net/pub/dns/templates/emc/ph-domain-template.txt

To register a new domain name under EDU.PH or GOV.PH, fill out the template available from:

ftp://ftp.skyinet.net/pub/dns/templates/phnet/frm002.txt

See detailed instructions

Note:

You must save the template to your local system, complete the template, and then email the template to the appropriate address.

Step 4 - Submit the Domain Template

Completed templates for COM.PH, ORG.PH, NET.PH, MIL.PH or NGO.PH domain names should be sent to jd@fc.emc.com.ph.

Completed templates for EDU.PH. or GOV.PH domain names should be sent to hostmaster@pfi.net.

SKY Internet will help its customers register domain names with the PH Domain. Requests should be sent to dns-admin@skyinet.net

However, SKY Internet does not register domain names for our customer's customers. That is, if SKY Internet's customer is also an Internet Service Provider, they must submit domain requests for their customer's to the InterNIC themself.

Questions regarding domain registrations can be directed to dns-admin@skyinet.net
