Policy on Internet Service Providers

The following policies apply to SKY Internet customers that are also Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

SKY Internet will gladly help its customer with secondary DNS, registering domain names, newsfeeds, etc.

However, SKY Internet will not provide the same services to its customer's customers. That is, if SKY Internet's customer is the Internet Service Provider named "Cyber Pedro's Company", SKY Internet will provide assistance to "Cyber Pedro's Company", but not to Cyber Pedro's customers.

IP Network Requests

In addition, the following policies are for requesting IP networks from SKY Internet. The policies are identical to the policies from the InterNIC that SKY Internet must follow as an Internet Service Provider. Questions regarding these policies can be sent to ip-admin@skyinet.net

The networks that an Internet Service Provider (ISP) delegates to its customers are called provider networks. It is important that the ISP distinguish between provider networks and in-house networks for all network requests to SKY Internet.

As a justification for provider networks, list all the customers that are signed up with the ISP's service, and the number of networks each customer requires. It is not necessary to share confidential information such as the customer name, "customer 1" through "customer n" will be sufficient. We will then allocate the ISP the networks for these customers, plus a couple extra for growth.

As the provider networks are allocated to the ISP's customers, the ISP will have to submit SWIPs (whois updates) to the InterNIC indicating who the networks have been delegated to. We cannot allocate additional provider networks to the ISP until the SWIPs have been submitted.

Further, It is the ISP's responsibility to verify that its customers are not requesting more address space (networks) than they actually need. The Internet is running out of networks, so they will only be granted on an as-needed basis.

This is the InterNIC's policy, we have to enforce it.
